Title: CMOS Compatible Memory Devices for In-Memory Computing
In-memory computing is drawing attention as an energy and area efficient technology that can solve memory bottlenecks. Memory devices are introduced to implement a hardware platform for neural networks, one of the in-memory computing technologies. The key to implementing a hardware-based neural network is designing a fast and energy efficient hardware system that implements vector and matrix multiplication. Focusing on CMOS compatible memory devices for neural networks (ferroelectric and charge trap memory), research trends and challenges in terms of memory density and energy efficiency will be introduced.

Title: ADC-based wireline receiver
Enhanced digital computing capability creates an opportunity to accommodate the increased data-rate applications. However, the mixed-signal ecosystem has not kept up with the exponential digital progress. As a result, we need to make a paradigm toward digitally assisted mixed-signal circuit design. Such systems demand radical architecture-level innovations to leverage the benefits of digital scaling. This is especially relevant to ADC design as they lie on the cusp of analog and digital domain and play a key role on system performance. In this talk, a practical design example of an ADC-based wireline receiver containing built-in equalizer will be discussed.

발표제목: Statistical Circuit Analysis Using Machine/Deep Learning Algorithms
Under continuously increasing process variations, it becomes necessary to analyze the circuit from a statistical point of view. Recent breakthroughs in machine learning and deep learning have improved the efficiency and accuracy of statistical circuit analysis. In this presentation, previous works utilizing machine/deep learning algorithms in variation-aware circuit analysis will be introduced. The works include the automating algorithms for the front-end and back-end design, including timing, leakage, and routability analysis.

발표제목: Single-inductor Bipolar-output Converter for AMOLED Display
AMOLED Display의 구동을 위해서는 양전원과 음전원이 필요하다. 본 강연에서는 인덕터와 플라잉 커패시터를 이용하여 양전원과 음전원에 전력을 동시에 공급하는 회로를 소개한다. 이 회로는 기존에 비해 더 작은 전압 리플을 갖고 저렴한 공정을 사용할 수 있다는 산업적인 강점을 가지는데, 이러한 이유에 대해서 개념적으로 설명할 예정이다.
